Discipline
Lyrical, Contemporary, Improvisation, & Modern-Fluid forms of dance done to popular ballads and slower contemporary music. Dancers are taught to connect mind and body through fluid dance movement with feeling, motion and style, as well as learning to tell a story or create a picture of the song. Lyrical combines ballet with emotion or storytelling, with more sharp moves from jazz. Contemporary dance stresses versatility and improvisation, unlike the strict, structured nature of ballet and focuses on floorwork, using gravity to pull down to the floor.
