Beverly began ballet and tap dancing by age 4 at Bette & Glenn Herring Studio in San Antonio. High school dance team and dance classes at U.T.- Austin allowed the love of dance to grow. As an adult, community theater offered the next opportunity, with dancing roles in 'West Side Story' and 'Dames at Sea' at Corpus Christi's Harbor Playhouse. Much later, Beverly joined a tap class at Rio Grand Valley Arts Studio in Harlingen, Texas, which led to teaching adult classes and attending tap festivals in Austin and San Antonio. She has taken master classes with renowned teachers including Dianne Walker, Sarah Petronio, Barbara Phillips, Acia Gray, Jay Fagan, Nicole Hockenberry, and Sam Weber. Dance Empower has offered a home to Beverly, first taking classes with Chandra Chinnis, and now teaching adults who want to broaden their tap skills or to try something new and challenging.
